Our traditional Christmas stollen
Our traditional stollen is lovingly made by hand according to a family recipe handed down through generations. The roots of our bakery go back to 1668, when our family was first mentioned in the church register. The current recipe was created around four generations ago, around 1900, and has been cultivated with the greatest care ever since.

You can order the Ahrtalstollen now and it will be delivered directly to your home in November. Our Christmas stollen is available again in 500 g and 1000 g.

What makes our stollen so special
It's the exquisite ingredients and the time we take to make them by hand. Immediately after baking, when the stollen is still warm and tender, it is soaked in melted butter. The fresh spices, which are ground and mixed for the season, give it its typical Christmas aroma. The delicate orange note is not only created by the candied orange peel, but also by high-quality cardamom. The marzipan (8.5 %) comes from Lübeck, Germany's best-known city for top-quality marzipan.
The flood
The flood disaster in July 2021, which hit the entire Ahr valley and left behind destruction on an unbelievable scale, hit our village and our hotel hard. We are now in the fourth year after the flood and much has already been restored. But much will still take a long time, in the entire Ahr valley, in our village and in our Landgasthof Weihs. The old oven, in which our Christmas stollen was traditionally baked, fell victim to the floods in 2021, but the recipe remained and the Christmas stollen became the „flood stollen“. It is still used today to rebuild our country inn.
